On a bright Wednesday morning, the 24th of April 2024, the corridors of GBHS Mbouda buzzed with anticipation. The occasion? The West Chapter Seminar on “Clean School and the Digital Transformation of the Language and Literature Classroom in 21st Century Cameroon”. The seminar was a beacon of innovation, aiming to explore and enhance the teaching and learning of language and literature subjects in the digital age.
A Warm Welcome
The seminar kicked off with the arrival and registration of participants. Teachers, educators, and stakeholders from various walks of life gathered, their enthusiasm palpable. Dignitaries from the education sector extended a warm welcome, expressing their support for the seminar’s objectives and emphasizing the importance of modernizing language and literature education.

Emma Mojoko, representing CAMELTA SEC, conducted a session on rapid learning stations, providing teachers with practical strategies for optimizing continuous professional development as English language teachers.
Ayimele Mildred, from RPI West, explored effective approaches to enhance teaching skills and professional growth, focusing on optimizing continuous professional development for English language teachers.
Ako Tambe, Vice President of CAMELTA West and Vice Principal of GBHS Binfoumban, presented an engaging session on developing creative writing skills in secondary school beginners, utilizing picture series to stimulate students’ imagination and enhance their writing abilities.
Nibafu Cyril Mabu, a teacher from GBHS Mbouda Rural, shed light on the critical topic of deconstructing violence and reconstructing sustainable school environments, discussing strategies to promote positive and supportive learning environments for students.
Yuh D. Anthony, President of CAMELTA-West, delivered a captivating presentation on harnessing AI-powered tools for the language and literature classroom, providing an overview of how technology can be effectively integrated into language instruction to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
